A friend of mine was complaining that her (Asian) mom was mad at her and it was driving her crazy because her mother expected her to know why she was mad. "How can I fix what I did wrong if she doesn't tell me?! How am I supposed to know?!" I laughed and told my friend that my mom did that too and sometimes I had to call a sister to ask what I did wrong. Her husband (a nice white guy) didn't understand the cultural way that his mother-in-law was communicating. He was perplexed. But we both felt better because we totally got it. I drew this comic the day after we talked and texted her a photo of the comic. She asked if she could hang it on her wall. I told her she should give it to her mom. Lol!
